Privacy Policy
How Orydin handles app data, website data, purchases, and support.
Overview
Orydin is a local-first Windows desktop app. Normal app use stores your data on your own computer. A Human Odyssey does not receive, process, or have access to the personal data you store inside the Orydin app.
This policy explains how app data, website data, purchases, and support are handled.
Orydin desktop app data
Orydin does not process or transmit the personal data you store inside the app.
The Orydin desktop app is designed to store your data locally on your computer. There is no cloud account, no login, no backend database, no hidden telemetry, and no automatic upload of your app data to any server.
Normal app use does not require an internet connection. Your tasks, plans, records, health data, finance information, notes, documents, and other content inside Orydin stay on your machine.
Local storage and backups
Your Orydin app data is stored as local files on your computer. You can create manual backup files and restore them when needed.
You are responsible for where your data files and backups are stored and for keeping those locations secure. Be aware that cloud sync tools, backup software, or other applications on your device may also copy or transmit files stored on your computer.
Orydin includes an optional Screen Lock feature that puts a numeric PIN on the visible app when you step away. Screen Lock is a privacy screen, not encryption: it does not change how your data is stored or add file-level protection. It is off by default, and its settings (including your PIN) are stored locally on your device and are not included in Full Backup/Restore. If you forget your PIN, Screen Lock can be reset or disabled on that device without deleting your Orydin data.
Beyond Screen Lock, Orydin does not include file-level encryption. The security of your device, your Windows account, your disk, and the files stored on it is your responsibility.
Website data
This website is a static HTML page. It uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-respecting analytics service, to understand basic traffic, referral sources, and performance. This website does not use cookies, session tracking, or JavaScript tracking scripts beyond that service.
Standard web server access logs may be retained by the hosting infrastructure (currently Cloudflare Pages) as part of normal infrastructure operation. We do not control the specific data-retention practices of the hosting provider.
Cloudflare Web Analytics applies only to this public website and does not involve the personal data stored inside the Orydin desktop app.
Purchases, payments, support, and email
Purchase, payment, support, or email data may be handled separately by the platforms used for sales and support.
When you purchase Orydin, the sales or payment platform used at the time (currently Payhip) processes the transaction data required to complete it, such as your name, email address, and payment details. We do not directly process payment card information. Refer to the relevant platform's own privacy policy for details.
When you contact us by email or through a support channel, your message and any information you include is received by us. Messages are not automatically shared with third parties except as required by law or the terms of the communication platform used.
Website analytics
This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-respecting analytics service, to understand basic traffic, page views, referral sources, and performance. Cloudflare automatically provides this service as part of hosting; no analytics code is added manually to this website's source files. This website does not set tracking cookies.
Cloudflare Web Analytics applies only to this public website, not to the Orydin desktop app or to the personal data stored inside it.
Sensitive data and security limits
While Orydin is designed as a local-first app with no automatic data upload, we cannot guarantee absolute protection of your data against all possible risks.
Your security also depends on the security of your device, operating system, Windows account credentials, disk, file permissions, and how you manage your backup files. Do not use Orydin as the sole storage system for data that requires certified security standards such as HIPAA or PCI-DSS.
Security responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Securing your Windows user account and device.
- Protecting your downloaded Orydin installer and keeping it in a safe location.
- Choosing a safe location for your Orydin data files and backups.
- Understanding that any application with access to your file system could potentially access files stored by Orydin.
A Human Odyssey is not responsible for data loss, data exposure, or device compromise caused by factors outside the Orydin app itself.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Orydin or this website changes in ways that affect how data is handled. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Changes do not apply retroactively.
